Saturday
The dancers met at
Khatib to take a look at the stage.
Did a few
rehersals and then off to
Qayyum's open house.
Aqilah joined and after lunch at his house, we boarded the
MRT to
Suntec...
Met up with the rest of
SSP involved in the
Heritagefest.

Wore makeup for like
hmmm the first time ?
Jalil was dying to draw a goatee so all of the guys
had to do it(actually we too wanted it...
hahaha...)

Practiced a
lil bit more outside
suntec, near the taxi stand.
Took our things and took cabs to
Khatib.

Wore the costumes with the help of
Aizat.
Practiced again one last time.

Minutes before the dance...

The Dance itself...

After the dance...

Ready to go celebrate.

Went causeway point to eat.
Adilah gave us chocolates... thank you!

...made our journey back home.
END
Something you should know...
I joined
Zapin Wangsa half-
heartedly due
to a promise I made...
...and I must admit that the first few trainings
I had the attitude of "lets get this over with"
because firstly,
I used to stereotype
malay dance and secondly,
I never really tried dancing before...
After a few more trainings, I realised that I'm beginning
to interact with the other dancers and as a result, we
got closer to each other...
Nearing to the performance, we eventually got serious
and nervous minutes before the dance...
A huge sigh of relief from us and glad to know that the dance
was great and we realised that it was all about having fun on stage...
To the people who
choreographed the steps and helped with the trainings, people like Aizat, Izzah and Sue...
To the dancers, whether or not you performed, you are still part of the team...and finally, hope that you all will think of it as our first performancetogether... with yet more performances to come... :)

ZAPIN WANGSA !
